The PDF (portable document format) file format has become very popular that it is probably the most common file format to distribute documents online. As opposed to a DOC file (Microsoft Word document file format), it does not require a proprietary software to open, read, and print documents. PDF viewers are available free for download and use. Even the latest versions of office productivity suites have placed options to publish documents to PDF.
However, one limit to the PDF is that you can’t usually edit them without having a PDF editor, the most popular of which is Adobe Acrobat Professional, which is paid software. While many PDF files allow text content to be copied (say from PDF to a Word document), the process can be a bit tedious.
An easy way to get editable text content from a PDF file is to convert it to Word document file format. DOC files can be edited in popular word processing software like Microsoft Word, OpenOffice.org Write and even by online office suites such as Zoho and Google Docs.
To do so, you need a conversion software. Here’s a free PDF to Word DOC converter by Hello PDF. It’s free and is available for download here. Given a PDF file with purely text content, the converter works great. However, you can’t expect to have 100% conversion of PDF files with fancy formatting.
Still, it’s a document converter that every user who deals with PDF files and word processing should have this one handy.
